Cumpagnia

Unavantaluna cumpagnia ri musica sixiliana is an ensemble of musicians united by common Sicilian origins and by the same passion for the art and popular traditions of their land. In this record we see a strong necessity to link the past to the present through the quest of a possible balance of tradition and musical innovation.

That is why together with tarantella, contraddanze and canti of the sailors tradition, original compositions come along in a traditional execution.

Sicilian songs and strong voices, archaic musical instruments and millenary stories, arrangements and new sounds: a record of certain impact by a new group, enthralling when performing live as well!

In January 2007 their first record was published by Finesterre.
